Making The Most Of Life
Succeeding in college is my main priority to making the most of my life. I want to be the epitome of success for my children. I’m working hard towards the career that I want and will enjoy. I want to be a valuable, influential, loving, caring mother, co- worker, and friend in life.
It is not easy for me to get through college or even get into college. Everyone has different lives. Some people like to party. Others have kids with no family or friends to help and some are single and do not know what responsibility is. Not everyone has the funding for college. They may have been raised and taught that college is not important. There are many reasons most people do not go to college. I feel that going to college and getting a degree will take me somewhere in life and will help me to make the most of my life and my kids lives.
When I was younger I just wanted to party. I never got into drugs or anything serious, but I did hang out with my friends late and slept all day. I never thought about school, a career, long term goals, or how to plan out school, kids, and work. I just wanted to have fun. I have learned the hard way. Three kids later, I am working a full time job, going to school, finding daycare, time to spend with the kids, homework, and my husband is not easy. I have an amazing family and good friends to help me with my children so I can make it through school. I want to let people know how important college is and how much easier it is before having a family. I wouldn’t change my life for the world but it is a challenge and takes a set schedule.
My father did not graduate high school. My mother has some college background but did not get a degree. She has a good job. My mother pushed me to complete High School and helped me buy a car as an incentive. No one pushed to enroll in college, though. I had to grow up to realize that I needed school to make it into a good job. I never had help with college funds from family. I started working at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center in 2008 and figured out what I wanted to become in life. I started college in 2012. I have learned a lot from school and working in the medical field. I enjoy my job and helping others and will make a difference in people’s lives as a nurse.
I enjoy my life. I am very happy with myself, my family, and where I am going in life. I am very blessed. I am staying positive and working hard every day for what I want in life. I know all my hard work will pay off in the end. I will continue to remind myself that there will be struggles along the way but I am going to make the most of my life for myself and my family.
